Born in Seoul, Korea where he studied architecture at Hong-Ik University, Khan Lee immigrated to Canada in the early 90’s. Lee studied at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design from 1996 until 2000 and currently lives in Vancouver. He is a founding member of Vancouver based artist collective ‘Intermission’ and currently an active member of ‘Instant Coffee’ collective. His experiments with materials and technologies have resulted in performance, sculpture and media works. Lee has shown a photo installation at CSA Gallery and participated in group exhibitions at the Shudder Gallery, Or Gallery, and Western Front in Vancouver; the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan; and Canada House in London, England. In 2009, Khan Lee had his first solo exhibition at Centre A.
